Tensión superficial

Imagen

Ducks story

Imagen
Once upon a time there was a tortoise that lives in a pond, whit two ducks. They were very friends, and the tortoise loved that because she loves to talk, and she talks to them a lot. One day, the pond became very low and dry, and finally it dried up. The ducks knew that they will not survive there, so they decide to fly another place. When they go to say good-bye, the tortoise tells them to not go away, to take her with them. They feel so sorry for her that they decided to travel her. She would have a stick in the mouth, and they would take it by the corners, but if she talks she would fall. They start flying and she wanted to talk, but she remembered what the ducks told her, so she shut up. In a moment they passed across a town, were the people start to shout ‘‘look at that tortoise’’. The tortoise think what was that noise, and finally she said ‘’ Hush, you foolish people!’’ And she fell. And that was the end of the tortoise.

The coward

This are the questions: 1. What exactly is Big Foot's secret? What does he do to try and hide it?  2. Naipaul, the author, has written the narrative part of the story in Standard English and the dialogue in Trinidadian dialect. Why do you think he did this? Would it be better if it were written entirely in Standard English? 3. Is "The coward" a good title for this story? Why? Think of another title and explain it. 4. What do you think the THEME of the story is? 5. Choose one passage from the text which you consider tot be very important and explain why. Answers:

Review: The canterville Ghost.

The adaptaptation of ´The canterville ghost´ for mi was cool. I don't think it was really an adaptation, because lot of things changed acording to the book, but it was great too. The characters were very good and funny, they never forget a line and they always were very concentrated. In some parts they sing, and their voices were handsome. Thinking about the costumes, they were very nice, and perfect acording to the characters. Most of the time they have a change of clothes. That makes the play better, so it's understood that time pased acording to the other scene.
