• People are forced to move

• Soil becomes less fertile
• Farmers have to spend more on fertilizers

Investigation about a dam in Argentina: Río Hondo Dam

It was inaugurated in 1967 with the idea of prevent floodings and create energy. It is located in the boundary between Tucuman and Santiago del Estero, and the rivers come from the northwest. It rises over the 39 m, and its capacity covers 1745 hm³. It has problems with contamination because of sediments and since industries discard its waste in there.
