Imagen
In the L/L Writing class we had to make a literary essay about a story we read in class. I decided writing about "The Prison ".   "The Prison", written by Bernard Malamud was a story about a man called Tommy, that worked in a candy shop because he had stolen in the past, but he was very sad there. One day a girl appeared and while Tommy was not looking she started stealing. When Tommy realized that, he did not know how to tell her to stop. This essay will analyze the characters: Tommy and The little girl of "The Prison".   Tommy was the main character, he always wanted to be a shoemaker but in the past he had stolen a liquor store; so his father, made a treat with Rosa´s father and made them married and work in a candy shop; and he was not happy with that. He could be not phisically in prison, but he was mentally there "Thought he tried not to talk of it, at twenty-nine Tommy Castelli´s life was a screaming bore ". But one day a little girl ap...

The blind was not so blind

It was a normal day of a normal week, or that is what I thought. I was going home after school, when I saw a blind man asking for help; he wanted to cross the street. I was sure he was poor, because of how he looked. And I think that is why people didnt want to help him; a lot of people are afraid of being robbed. I saw a man ignoring him. I knew that man, he was my biology teacher. I personally hate him. So, I decided to go and help him. He seemed so ill and sad (I would be like that too if nobody wanted to help me). He was very pleased and I was happy because of my good action. The next day when I was going home I didnt see the man and I thought it was normal, maybe he went to another place. But strange things started happening. When I arrived I turned on the TV and I saw problems. Many cars crushed and a lot of people were hurt; that was not strange, the strange thing was that I knew those people. I had seen them the other day ignoring the poor man. I first thought was casuality, I ...

Something about... Martin Luther King

Imagen
Martin Luther King was born the 15 of January of 1929, in Atlanta, Memphis. His father was Martin Luther King and his mother Alberta Williams King. My father talked to me about him one of the times I saw the X-MEN. That film talks methaphorically about him and Malcolm X. He was not tall (1,69 m). He had black hair and skin, and long whiskers. He was a man that defended the black rights. He was a civil right activist and very religious. He wanted to be doctor and lawyer but he became minister. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. He dreamed about the black and white people being together in a peaceful world.  I think he is a great man. He was very brave. It was not very easy to make such work as he made, and it was more difficult if we think about all the people that hated him.
